Mr. Rose, a
Peoria attorney, has been a volunteer assistant coach with Richwoods Women's
Track since 1991. He holds coaching
certification from NFICA (National
Federation - Interscholastic Coaches Assoc.)
and ACEP (American
Coaches Effectivenss Program) as part of the American Sport
Education Program (ASEP) which has been approved since 1989 under the
requirements of IHSA By-Law 2.070 for non-faculty coaches. The program has
included an 11-hour instruction seminar in Coaching Principles and Sport First
Aid.
Mr. Rose currently has responsibility for the Knights' distance program and
previously acted as the Knights throwing events
coach.
He
was formerly the head coach of a successful youth track and cross country program from which
several athletes qualified, competed and medalled in AAU and USATF State, Regional and
National Championship competitions, including a number who earned All-American
status, in venues located in Los Angeles, Philadelphia,
Baton Rouge, Mobile, San Antonio, Gainesville, Cleveland, Indianapolis,
Louisville and Chicago.
Mr. Rose has also been a member of the officiating staff
at the IHSA Girls State Championship Track and Field Meet for a number of years,
with the current position of the Assistant Head Finish Judge.
