Shad Hickman became
the 4th Head Coach in the history of Richwoods High School Women's Track
& Field Team upon being named as successor to Rich Thole who left
the position to become the Principal of Princeville High School at the
end of the 2008 season.
Coach Hickman joined
the team in 2002 and primarily served as the Knights Throws Coach during
his tenure as an assistant. Under his tutelage throwers produced school record performances in both
the shot put and
discus, and individual conference, sectional and state champions including Jewel Sanders
a 4 time state medalist and the only State Champion in the
history of the Richwoods program.
He is a mathematics
teacher at Richwoods and is a graduate of the school. While at Richwoods,
Coach Hickman was a member of the undefeated (14-0) 1988 Class 5A State
Football Champions and was a thrower on the Track team. He competed in
both football and track while in college. |
