The Mid - State 6 Conference From PJStar.com Mid-State 6 -- What: Mid-State 6 Conference track and field championships -- Where: Peoria Stadium (Woodruff is host) -- When: Friday. Field events 4 p.m., track prelims 5:30 p.m., finals 6:30 p.m. -- Defending champion: Richwoods -- Team favorite: Notre Dame -- Other contenders: Richwoods -- Defending individual champions: 100 hurdles — Christine Svoboda (so.) Notre Dame; 300H — Jenisha Brittine (sr.) Manual; Long jump — Sarah Medland (sr.) Notre Dame; High jump — Ebony Harper (so.) Woodruff; pole vault — Natalie Robins (jr.) Richwoods. -- Outlook: Richwoods is seeking its fourth title in a row and ninth in last 12 years. The meet is a virtual toss-up, with Notre Dame — the last non-Richwoods team to win the M-S 6 (2005) — a 10-point favorite, according to seeds. ND won a dual with Richwoods 90-56, but this five-team meet will be closer. The outcome could be determined by where talented entries from Manual, Central and Woodruff place. ND coach John Cummings: “Who has a hot day, or more importantly who does not have a hot day, those points will make the difference in the meet. If the girls run well and do a good job, I think we have a shot at taking (Richwoods).”
