Thomas accepted an invitation to be a member of the team representing Illinois
at the Senior Spotlight Meet held June 7 at Northern Iowa University in Cedar
Falls. The annual meet is designed to showcase the skills of the leading senior
track and field athletes from the states of Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin and South
Dakota.
Thomas, who will be attending and
competing next season at Illinois Wesleyan University, competed in 3 events, 100
meters, 200 meters and the 4x100 Relay, finishing 9th in the 100 (:12.75), 4th
in the 200 (:25.00) and 4th in the Relay (:49.70).
The :25.00 time run by Thomas in
the 200 meters converts to a hand held time of :24.8. The time surpasses the :25.0 time
run by Tracy Smith in 1993 and is the fastest ever run by a Richwoods girl.
