Coach Thole To Leave Richwoods

Richwoods Women's Track and Field Head Coach Rich Thole will be leaving at the end of the current school year. Mr. Thole has accepted an employment offer to become the Principal of Princeville High School (Princeville Unit School District 326) beginning July 1, 2008.

Following the 2005 season retirement of long-time former Head Coach Joe Maier, Coach Thole became the 3rd Head Coach of RHS Women's Track since its inception during the 1974-1975 season. As a result there was a seamless transition into the new era. The transition was enhanced by Mr. Thole's election to retain the prior coaching staff, including his predecessor as an assistant.

The Thole-era has seen the Knights maintain their competiveness, providing Coach Thole with an unblemished 13-0 record in dual meets and as 2 time defending Mid-State 6 Conference Champions entering this final season.

Mr. Thole also has served as the Head Coach of the Richwoods freshman football team, and previously was as an Assistant Women's basketball coach for the Knights.
