PJS Ad Prophetic Knights Show Power at Honor Roll Meet as "The Best of the Best"
When the Journal Star created the advertisement shown at the left for its Honor
Roll Meet, it undoubtedly was not attempting to prophesy the meet results.
Richwoods, which at meet time had a meet high 17 entrants compete in 13 of the meets 18 events, justified the PJS comments by having 12 of those entries score, including 6 event winners. Leading the way for the Knights were junior Shavantay Thomas with winning medallions from the 100, 4x100, and 4x200 together with a third from the 200 and junior Donielle Ross with winning medals from the 400, Triple Jump and 4x200 together with a third from the 4x400. The meet while not officially scored saw the Knights produce 88 potential points by applying the standard 5 deep scoring method of 10-8-6-4-2. That total was 40 better than Galesburg production.
