Field Events Lead Knights Past Morton
Richwoods 102 Morton 48
Before any finishes for events on the track could be tabulated the Knights enjoyed a substantial lead over the visiting Morton Potters. The Knights produced a 41 - 12 advantage in the field en route to a 102 - 48 victory. The win marked the 40th consecutive for the Knights in dual meets.
Richwoods was led by the throws. Delaina Martin bested her own school record with a 111' 7" throw in the discus after being disappointed when her personal best 37' 2" put in the shot proved to be 4 inches short of the school record. Each of Delaina's two shot put compatriots also threw a p.r. with Desiree Parkman registering 31' 4½" and Jamie Powers adding a 30' 7½" throw.
Alisha Smith repeated her 4 win sprint performance of last week, again winning the 100 and 200 meter dashes and anchoring the winning 4 x 100 and 4 x 200 relays.
The pole vault duo of Shauna Wills and Carrie Knapp continued their improvement with Wills tying the school record of 7' 6" and Knapp claiming sole possession of the 3rd all time Richwoods vault with her 6' 0" effort.
Once again the Knights produced a significant number of performances which either moved individuals onto or into a higher position on the all-time Richwoods performance lists:
