Smith Blazes

Richwoods Beats Manual 136-12

Latoya Howard of Manual came to Richwoods with an eye toward besting the Peoria Journal Star Honor Roll Top Time in the 200 meters of :25.9 held by the Knights' Alisha Smith. Howard was successful in her quest running a sparkling :25.8. Unfortunately for her Smith was not willing to surrender leadership on the Honor Roll and blazed to a career best :25.2 thereby laying claim to number 2 in Richwoods history in the 200. Smith also bested Howard in the 100 running :12.5.

The meet saw the return of Delaina Martin to expected form with wins in both of her specialty events - 112' 11" in the discus and a personal best of 37' 3" in the shot. Freshman Deja Davis leapt to 16th place in RHS All Time Long Jump annals with a 15' 5" effort. The team of Laura Unes, Shauna Wills, Ashley Gordon and Alisha Smith became the fourth combination of the season in the 4 x 100 meter relay to crack the Knights All Time lists with its :52.1 clocking for 27th place.

Richwoods produced wins in every event in winning the meet 136 - 12. The Knights dual meet win streak now stands at 43.
