Knights Finish 7th at State
May 18, 2013
 Led
by Brenna Detra's win in the 300 Hurdles and her 4th
Place finishes in the 100 Hurdles and the 200 and
LaDaisha Steen-Yates 5th in the 100, the knights
finished as the 7th Place Class AAA team a mere 4
points from the 3rd Place Trophy.

2013 Sectional Results - Updated

IHSA
has released its full listing of State Meet
qualifiers for all classes and for all events.
All Qualifiers:

May 10, 2013 - The
Knights appeared to suffer travel fatigue from the
4+ hour bus ride to the sectional meet at Belleville
East High School and appeared to be a bit lethargic
in their 4th Place finish at what was the top performing Class AAA
Sectional.

This Sectional Meet was once again the most
competitive in Class AAA competition and produced 69
state qualifiers which is 21% more than the next
highest producing Sectional with 57 qualifiers. A listing and links to

RHS Palatine Relays Redux
April 28, 2013
 RHS
met with pleasant weather at the Palatine Relays and
saw a replay of last season with the Knights
claiming a 3rd Place trophy together with Brenna
Detra being named Athlete of the Meet (as the sole 3
time recipient)

Knights Ranked 5th Statewide
April 24, 2013
Heading
into the Palatine Relays MileSplit Illinois now
lists Richwoods as 5th in its current All
Classes Illinois Power Rankings. Additionally,
Mid-State 6 Conference foes Peoria Notre Dame, Manual
and Peoria High are respectively ranked as numbers 10, 29
and 69 in Class AA -

RHS Tops ND
April 24, 2013
 Despite
a last minute change of venue to Notre Dame, "host"
Richwoods upended the "visiting" Irish 81-64. The
meet saw Kourtney Marks move into 2nd positiion on
the PJS Honor Roll with a :12.5 time behind teammate
LaDaisha Steen-Yates' :12.0. The Knights 4x400 of
Marks, Lauren Schults, Kayvance Haywood and Brenna
Detra also moved into 2nd at 4:12.0.

The Knights
rolled over an undermanned Manual team 113-23 by
winning 14 of the 17 events including Brenna Detra's
School Record tying :14.2 in the 100 H

Not Quite...
April 20, 2013
The Knights traveled to the Harold Jester
Invitational hosted by Champaign Central (held
at Centennial) and had one of
those meets..."not quite good" but "not quite bad"
either.
The Knights departed with a meet record when Brenna
Detra clocked a :57.80 in the 400m dash.
Unfortunately they left another on the table when
Detra joined Kourtney Marks, Kayvance Haywood and
LaDaisha Steen-Yates in the 4x100 and their :49.08
which was under the previous meet record could only
produce a second place finish to Danville's :48.88
in a race which the Knights had a very significant
lead dissipate when they sufferred some confusion as
to the proper location of the hand-off zone and came
to a virtual complete stop mid-race.
In all Richwoods finished 3rd in Varsity level
competition. Other highlights included Steen-Yates
and Marks finishing 1-2 in the 100 as well as Detra
and Steen-Yates taking 1-3 in the 200.

Knights Honored
April 14, 2013
 The
Greater Peoria Sports Hall of Fame honored a
number of Knights at its 32nd annual banquet.
Brenna Detra was named as the 2012 Tri-County
Female Athlete of the Year, and inducted into
the Greater Peoria Sports Hall of Fame itself
were Richwoods Girls' Basketball Head
Coach Heather Cassady and the Knights Boy's
Basketball Teams of 1973-74, 1974-75 and
1975-76.

Mid-Knight Special
April 13, 2013
 While the Knights could only manage a middle of
the pack 7th place finish at the
Rock Island ABC Invitational, there were some
special Knights. Brenna Detra claimed 4 Golds in
the A events led by a 19' 0" meet record Long Jump.

Knight Sets Area Record
April 8, 2013
Richwoods Senior Brenna Detra set the Peoria
Area record in the 100 meter hurdles with her
:14.39 effort at the Springfield Southeast
Invitational. Her run removed the 2001 standard
set by Kewanee Wethersfield's Chelsea Humphrey
of
:14.42 from the top spot in the record book.

 Congrats to PND grad Caitlin Comfort on
her Indoor B1G 10Conference Championship in the 5,000m.
Comfort, a senior at Wisconsin ran 16:11.84, a win margin of over 4
seconds. Earlier in the meet she had finished 4th in
the 3,000m.

Classic. The Knights
